The Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society Keuring was a huge success again this year! Sponsored by German Dressage, Inc. together with Rancho Los Amigos, the event drew participants from California and Nevada, for a total of 16 horses. This year's panel from Vechta, Germany, the highly respected Dr. Evelin Schlotman and Felix Einhaus, viewed 1 Stallion, 8 Mares, and 7 Foals. The offspring represented stallions including Herzberg (Trak), Windfall (Trak) Pik’s Pride, Feiner Stern, Coromino, and Welcome S. All Mares and Foals were accepted into the Official Oldenburg Studbook. Three foals were awarded Premiums.
The Grand Champion and Reserve Champion Mares and Foals were awarded beautiful blue and red Oldenburg Horse neck sashes, and the foals were additionally awarded Oldenburg Stall Plaques.

• Grand Champion Mare : Pelikiby Gribaldi x Rossini, owned by Sara Hunt, score 7.3.
• Reserve Champion Mare : Pik’s Kiara by Pik’s Pride x Ehrentusch, Breeders/Owners: Jennifer & Jürgen Hoffmann, score 7.0.
• Reserve Champion Mare: Pik’s Promise by Pik’s Pride x Top of Class, Breeder/Owner: Gay Walker, score 7.0.
• Grand Champion Foal 2005: Herbstzauber by Herzberg out of Elfentanz by Figaro x Goldstern x Luciano, Breeders/Owners: Jennifer & Jürgen Hoffmann. The comments were "very well put together, uphill colt with long ground covering active strides--always in the same rhythm, very balanced, harmonically put together--a promising self-confident colt with lots of potential. He receives the Premium Award and the 'Site Grand Champion Title.'"

• Reserve Champion Foal 2005: Elfenwind (filly) by Windfall (Trak.) out of Elfenforrest by Quantus x Figaro x Goldstern, Breeders/Owners: Unbridled, LTD. /Mark & Tiffany Silverman. Premium Award.
• Premium Award also went to Herbstgold a beautifully elegant chestnut colt by Herzberg out of the Reserve Champion Mare Pik's Kiara by Pik’s Pride x Ehrentusch x Duccio, Breeders/Owners: Jennifer/Jürgen Hoffmann. comments: "very uphill, harmonically put together with active hind-legs; very elastic with good rhythm."

After the Awards Presentation, we celebrated the successful afternoon on the Rancho Los Amigos patio with a wine and cheese party, followed by a barbecue. All of the inspection participants were included, and had a chance to chat and relax with both Eveline and Felix, and our next door neighbor entertained us with a demonstration of Charro lariat work both on and off horse's back.
