Pik As XX was easily the most famous Abendfrieden XX son in German warmblood breeding. Breeders and interested buyers soon recognised that he was a genetic transmitter with a lot of potential. One component of his success was in his dam line. The bloodline of Postenkette also produced the top hereditary transmitter Pindar XX (private Trakehner breed), Parenzo XX (Warendorf state stallion), Pernod XX (private stallion in Westphalia who became well known under Willi Schultheis), the full Pik As XX brother Perser (Celle state stud) and Playmate (Warendorf state stallion), all of whom without exception matured to become renowned sires in their areas of specialization. Even though he transmitted wonderful movement, Pik As' was best known as a sire of showjumpers, and produced a number of approved sons. The task of upholding the line's versatility fell mainly to Pik König, a top producer of showjumpers whose progeny also managed to jump into the higher spheres of dressage sport. The full brothers Pik Bube I and Pik Bube II were characterized by especially versatile heredity, and it was through their progeny that the bloodline was continued in the male lineage. Pik Bube I was promoted by Herbert Rehbein, won eleven starts out of twelve in advanced competitions within one season alone. Of his numerous stallion sons, Piaster, who is stationed in Bavaria, has displayed extraordinary diversity in competions. Pik Bube II produced the Hanoverian State Champion, Pik L.

Abglanz |

Absatz |
Although Deichvogt's grandsire Abglanz, a lightly framed Trakehner, was not initially welcomed in an era when agricultural horses were in great demand, he was perhaps the most influential stallion of modern times in the Hannoverian breeding district, and his infusion of Trakehner lightness and blood can be clearly seen in todays modern Hannoverian horse.
Abglanz was of royal blood. His dam, Abendluft was a full-sister to the influential stallions, Absinth, Absalon and Abendstern.
At the stallion station at Jork, Abglanz produced three famous brothers - Abhang I, II and III, as well as their full sister, Zukunft who competed with success internationally with Alwin Schockemöhle. Just 160 cm, Abhang I produced elegant horses but without great performance success. Abhang II, at 157 cm, was the smallest of the three, but produced great dressage horses, with charm and movement. Abhang III, the tallest of the three, sired mainly showjumpers. All told Abglanz sired 19 Approved sons, with progeny earnings of over DM 324,000.
Abglanz and his progeny are credited with bringing about great improvement in the head and neck of the Hanoverian horses.
However Abglanzs influence was most felt through his son Absatz, Deichvogt's sire, who was out of the Hannoverian mare, Landmoor who on her sires side traces to the famous English Thoroughbred, Perfectionist xx, and on her dams side from the Shagya stallion Shagy XVII. Absatz was the sire of stallions such as Argentan, Arsenik, Akzent I and II, Admiral I and II, Aktuell and Aderlaß (and Deichvogt).
All told Absatz sired 40 Approved sons, 605 competition horses and 142 Verden auction horses. Absatzs modern influence is perhaps most strongly felt through Weltmeyer who is out of Anka by Absatz.
